Welcome to Tobacco-free.ky.gov
This site is dedicated to helping inform state employees and the public of the Executive Branch's expanded
tobacco-free order, announced by Governor Beshear on September 4, 2014.
The order directs all state buildings, grounds, and fleet to become
free of all tobacco products and e-cigarettes, effective on this year's American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout Day—November 20, 2014.
Throughout the implementation period, September 4 – November 20, state agencies will work together to ready the workforce. An extensive effort will be made to communicate to employees about the many
tobacco cessation resources available, including those offered by the Kentucky Employees' Health Plan (KEHP) LivingWell program and from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
Please check back for regular updates to FAQs and resources. Employees are encouraged to contact their HR office for specific questions.
